MA/DA: Dyn. Freq. Alloc. for Cognitive Radios, Minority Game

Beitrag von achtzehn » Mo 21. Nov 2011, 16:37

Hi,

at the Institute for Networked Systems (iNETS) we're offering a new thesis on the modeling of a dynamic frequency allocation system with the help of game theory. The idea is to dynamically share vacant spectrum between multiple "cognitive" radio devices by playing a number of games out of which a winner may arise who is granted spectrum access. The thesis employs the theory of Minority Games, a topic well studied in game theory and often taught with the example of the El Farol bar problem.

Prospective students should have a good understanding of MATLAB and also know their way around some C/C++ programming. We will be using the Qualnet Network Simulator, an easy-to-learn software with a well documented API.

The position is open and can be filled immediately. For further questions, don't hesitate to contact my colleague Maria Michalopoulou.

Best regards,
Andreas
